Senior Instrumentation Engineer

To be successful in this role, you will have experience of 


Responsibilities

  • Leading an Instrumentation Team on various projects as part of a multidiscipline project team
  • Analyzing complex engineering problems and offer effective solutions
  • Providing support to fee and capital budget proposals as required
  • Assembling and managing bid, approval, and construction issue Instrumentation packages in an efficient and lean manner
  • Mentoring Instrumentation engineering staff at junior and intermediate levels, if required
  • Checking other Instrumentation engineers work for accuracy and quality and undertake peer reviews
  • Extensive and independent contact with clients, vendor’s representatives and project field personnel
  • Attending and participating in client and PM Group meetings
  • Direct and/or participate in project site visits to monitor, review and sign-off Instrument installations

Qualifications

  • Third Level Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or similar discipline
  • 5 to 10+ years of formal experience in heavy industrial engineering design
  • Demonstrable advanced experience in the complete suite of Instrumentation engineering design services. This includes (but is not limited to) Instrument Index, I/O Lists/ Allocation, Instrument Specs/ Data Sheets, Layouts, Cable Containment, Block Diagrams, System Architecture, Atex/ Hazardous Areas, Clean Room Applications
  • Proficient in the use of Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) & digital project delivery
  • Advanced knowledge of all applicable Instrumentation engineering codes, standards and acceptable industry practices
  • Commercially aware and have ability to undertake value engineering activities and implement new technologies where they are implemented to provide costs effective solutions for our clients
  • Commercially aware on project execution, control of budgets, resourcing and change control
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to prepare written specifications and contract documents
